You Have a Song to Sing

Tuesday, February 15th, 6:30 pm

Do you want to be a songwriter? Do you find yourself starting songs easily but have a hard time finishing them? Do you feel like it’s difficult to get your thoughts out clearly?

Whether you are a veteran songwriter who just wants to hone your skills or if you’ve never written a song before, this workshop will help you learn to write YOUR song and get your ideas out clearly.

Project 1:11 is proud to offer the You Have a Song to Sing Workshop to equip you to write the song God has put in you and to better understand your creative process.

This workshop will focus on clarifying your ideas to give direction to your song, the creative process, and using the form of a song to get past writer's block.

Justin Reid is the founder of Project 1:11 and has his Masters's Degree in Music Theory Pedagogy from Michigan State University and an Associates' Degree in Recording Technology from Grand Rapids Community College. He has over 20 years of songwriting experience and has led worship for 15 years. Justin has written and recorded three albums with previous bands, three solo albums, and co-written internationally with recording artist Iron Heart from the Dominican Republic. He has taught everything from beginner piano to children to college-level courses for the Michigan State University Music Department. Justin’s passion is for people to fall in love with Jesus and create art that makes God known.

The workshop will take place at the Project 1:11 space,
located at 213 1/2 E. Grand River Ave. East Lansing, 48823.

There is a $25 suggested donation for the workshop, to support the ongoing work of Project 1:11- making Jesus’ Name great in our city through the arts. Your generosity toward this growing movement is greatly appreciated!
